“Hard Work Pays Off On 3.”

After every basketball practice in high school, the team huddled up and together, we'd chant “Hard work pays off,” clap twice and break. At the time, the phrase only related to basketball but soon I came to realize that hard work was something that I would never let go of. Here are selected projects I've put hard work into.

Let Me See the Damn Work Already

01. trakt

trakt is a service that automatically tracks what you're watching by using a method called "scrobbling." With over 400,000 users, trakt needed a design that would scale to not only a large volume of users, but also a massive catalog of content.

02. Measureful

Measureful automates the process of data collection, analysis and presentation, giving marketers the vital insights they need to make smart decisions. I worked with the team at Measureful on all levels from designing an intuitive UI, providing a seamless UX and designing their marketing materials. Analytics are no longer boring.

03. DINE Marketing & Mattson Co.

Working with CVo's design direction, I developed a set of custom Wordpress-based websites for DINE Marketing, a food & drink agency, and it's parent Mattson Co, America’s largest independent food and drink innovation company. DINE launches July 18th and Mattson in early August.

Development, Design Consulting

04. Stealth Portland Startup

This was one of my favorite projects I've ever worked on. It is a platform for mountain biking enthusiasts that integrates with GPS hardware. It's currently being developed and because it is in this stage, I can't show all the details. Even showing this screen might have been too much. Keep your eyes open for its slated launch in 2014.

05. Luc Lac Vietnamese Kitchen

In such a crowded industry, how does a restaurant rise to the top so it doesn't become another statistic? Working with my good friends the Ho brothers, I designed the Luc Lac Kitchen branding, website and continue to manage the social media voice. Come by, grab a cocktail and cuddle up with a hot bowl of Pho.

06. Music Impacts Everyone

From AngelList, "Music Impacts is a new way to discuss, share, and discover music through deep personal experiences, not critiques, awards, or popularity." I designed the native iOS iPad app and we at Upstart developed a beta app that we ran internally. Check out more of the project on the MIE AngelList page.

07. Taplister

Beer is good, we all know that. Very, very good. But as a beer newbie or a craft beer enthusiast alike, how do you discover new beers or find beers on tap that you already love? I designed the Taplister branding, native iOS app, developed the marketing pages, responsive web app and digital beer board. Cheers.

08. Reworked

Medical records can leave a lot to be desired in terms of ease of readability, experience and accessibility. The Department of Veterans Affairs sought the help of designers across the country to create an open-sourced health record. I worked with my fiancee (she's a registered nurse) to produce one of the designs that were showcased online.

The Kitchen Sink

Not all my work could be a feature and even if I wanted to, that'd be one really, really long page. So here's a few more examples of things I've done.
